About Panagia tis Kyras
The Panagia Kyra is a Byzantine church located in the area of Livadia, near the village of Komi Kepir (Sazlikoi), on the Karpas Peninsula in Northern Cyprus. The church dates back to the 12th century and is built in the shape of a free cross with a dome, which is relatively rare. Inside, there was a mosaic from the early 7th century AD, which was likely destroyed by antiquities looters after the Turkish invasion of Cyprus in 1974, as was the case with the nearby Panagia Kanakaria.
